Explosion of Truth

by Monique Rardin Richardson

a combustible flame

tortures her daily

How much punishment

can one endure

before racing towards

a desirable pool of regret?

Memory of his simple

 sultry words  summon her

lethal as the fire

behind empty walls

and secrets fought

in the center of her heart

Shh, she whispers to hope

It's safer when our world

is smaller.
